About
Adali Schell (b. 2001, Los Angeles, CA) is a photographer based in Los Angeles and Ohio. He received his BFA from UCLA School of Arts and Architecture and has exhibited internationally at les Rencontres d’Arles and the Museum of Warsaw. Working in the documentary tradition, Schell explores themes of community and togetherness within his upbringing in Southern California and family roots in rural Ohio. He is currently in the process of publishing his first book, Car Pictures.
His work has been published in numerous publications, including The New Yorker, The Guardian and The New York Times.
Schell has been a visiting artist and lecturer at a number of institutions including Pratt Institute, Los Angeles Center of Photography, Harvard Westlake and Los Angeles County High School of the Arts.
