Adali Schell is an photographer and director living and working in Los Angeles, California. His work explores community and memory within his upbringing in Southern California and family roots in rural Ohio. Through his camera, he connects himself to his outside world, fabricating fictionalized narratives inspired by his immediate surroundings.
His work has exhibited internationally at les Rencontres d’Arles and the Museum of Warsaw. He was longlisted for the Aperture Prize in 2024, received the Emerging Artist Award by the Los Angeles Center of Photography in 2022 and is an alumni of the New York Portfolio Review 2022 and YoungArts 2020.
